Site information
KANJI-Link is designed as a simple learning website that collects as little personal information as possible and does not use advertising or behavioural analytics.

KANJI-Link does not require an account and does not contain contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, advertising, audience analytics or behavioural tracking. KANJI-Link does not sell personal information and does not build advertising profiles about its visitors.
KANJI-Link itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. On grammar pages, the furigana ON/OFF control stores one functional preference in your browser’s local storage (kl-furigana-visible) so that your display choice can be remembered between pages. This value stays in your browser and is not sent to KANJI-Link.
Because the site does not load non-essential trackers on arrival, KANJI-Link does not display a general cookie-consent banner. Third-party YouTube content is handled separately, as described below.
Embedded YouTube players are not loaded when you first open a KANJI-Link page. A local placeholder is shown instead. If you choose Load YouTube video, your browser then connects to YouTube using its privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Google/YouTube may process technical information and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy terms.
KANJI-Link does not remember your YouTube choice between page loads. You can also use Unload video below a loaded player to remove that embedded player from the page. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy .
The donation button is a standard HTML form and does not load PayPal scripts or contact PayPal while you simply browse KANJI-Link. If you choose to make a donation, your browser submits the donation request directly to PayPal. Payment and account information is then handled by PayPal under its own privacy practices; KANJI-Link does not collect your card number or PayPal password.
You can review PayPal’s Privacy Statement .
As with most websites, the web server or hosting provider may generate routine technical logs containing information such as requested URLs, timestamps, IP addresses, browser or device information and error data. These logs may be used when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and reliable operation of the site. KANJI-Link does not use them for advertising or behavioural profiling.
Such information is retained only for as long as reasonably required for these operational and security purposes, according to the hosting and server configuration.
KANJI-Link contains links to external websites such as YouTube, PayPal and NIHONGO Montréal. Those services have their own privacy practices. Files downloaded directly from KANJI-Link, such as PDFs and vocabulary spreadsheets, are served as ordinary static files.
If you choose to activate or visit an international third-party service, information may be processed outside your country according to that provider’s infrastructure, safeguards and privacy terms.
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, routine technical processing needed to secure and operate the website is based on KANJI-Link’s legitimate interest in maintaining a safe and reliable service. Third-party YouTube content is activated only after your explicit choice. The furigana preference is stored locally to provide the display setting you request.
Depending on the law that applies where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the privacy or data-protection authority that has jurisdiction in your location.
Because KANJI-Link has no visitor accounts, forms or analytics profiles, it will often hold no information that directly identifies a normal visitor. Requests can be sent to question@nihongomontreal.ca.
This page may be updated if KANJI-Link changes its services, technologies or data-handling practices, or if applicable legal requirements change. The most recent update date is shown below.
